    I. PHYSICS DEPARTMENT
    Head of the department: Professor Dr. Sci.(Phys.)G. G. Spirin.
    The staff includes 4 Full Professors, 30 Associate Professors.

    The main fields of department scientific research are:
  • Theory and experiments in plasma physics (computational physics, theory and experiments with probes in plasma, hollow cathodes, spectroscopy of gases and low temperature plasma).
  • Conductivity properties of substance (heat conduction, viscosity, specific heat, equations of state, liquid alkali metals and their solution).
  • Theory and experiment in general relativity (measuring anisotropy of light velocity in gravitational field by laser interferometer).
  • Penetration of charged particles through different media and canalizations.
    II. THEORETICAL MECHANICS DEPARTMENT
    Head of the department: Vice Rector, Professor, Dr. Sci.(Math.) V. G. Veretennikov.

    The staff includes 6 Full Professors, 20 Associate Professors.

    The main fields of department scientific research are:

    1. Solving problems of general mechanics.
  • Investigating motion of systems with holonomic and non-holonomic relations in the advanced configuration space "generalized coordinates-time".
  • Generalization of integral principles in mechanics.
  • Investigating general dynamic equations for systems with relations depending on random parameters and with breaking relations as well.
  • Developing theoretical basis for complicated motion dynamics in case of rolling and sliding motions.

    2. Developing methods for solving problems of stability of motion and problems of stability for oscillations of nonlinear systems.
  • Investigating nonlinear oscillations of Hamiltonian systems.
  • Investigating stability of periodic solutions for Hamiltonian systems in critical (by Lyapunov) cases.
  • Developing methods for constructing Lyapunov's functions.
  • Developing analytic and numeric methods for solving problems of celestial mechanics and problems of dynamics of airspace engineering systems.
  • Investigating nonlinear oscillation of a satellite around its mass center in two- and three-body problems.
  • Developing active and passive systems for stabilization of satellite rotations.
  • Studying dynamic effects for rotations of deformable celestial bodies (planets).
    III. DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS DEPARTMENT
    Head of the department: Professor , Dr. Sci. (Math.) A. L. Skubachevskii.
  • Fields of research: oscillating solutions for functional differential equations, boundary value problems for elliptic nonlinear functional differential equations, nonlocal elliptic problems, Feller semigroups, parabolic functional differential equations.

    The staff includes 5 Full Professors, 20 Associate Professors.

    The main fields of department scientific research are:
  • Qualitative methods in the theory of differential and functional differential equations.
  • Numerical methods for solving differential equations.
  • Dynamical methods of economical processes.
  • Information technologies.
  • IV. PROBABILITY THEORY DEPARTMENT

    Fields of research: Stochastic Programming, stochastic optimal control, aircraft control.

    V. MATHEMATICAL CYBERNETICS DEPATMENT
    Head of the department: Academician of RAS, Professor, Dr. Sci. (Math.) V. M. Matrosov.
    Fields of research: methods of investigation for nonlinear stability theory and applications, global and local optimality conditions in stochastic control problems ,vector Lyapunov functions method for analysis of stability and other dynamical properties of logic-dynamical systems, methods of nonlinear dynamical analysis for differential equations.
    Association Membership: Honorary Member of the Astronautic Academy, Member of Academy of Nonlinear Sciences and other Academies.
    The staff includes 10 Full Professors, 18 Associate Professors.
    The main fields of department scientific research are:
    Control theory
  • Development of spectral theory for non stationary control systems.
  • Development of mathematical theory for logician-dynamic systems.
  • Syntheses of optimal control by unceasing, continuously-discrete, discrete, deterministic, stochastic control systems under incomplete composition of measurements and in conditions of uncertainty.
  • Nonlinear optimal filtration.
  • Methods and algorithms for vector optimization.
  • Methods and algorithms for decision making on the base of axiomatic theory of criterion importance.

    VI. NUMERICAL MATHEMATICS AND PROGRAMMING DEPARTMENT
    Head of the department: Corresponding Member of RAS, Professor, Dr. Sci. (Math.) U.G. Pirumov
    The staff includes 8 Full Professors, 30 Associate Professors.
    The main fields of department scientific research are:
  • Physical gas dynamics (Euler and Navier-Stokes equations).
  • Computational mathematics.
  • Gas flow with non-equilibrium physic-chemical processes.
  • Development of software products that cover the spectrum of physical-chemical processes in gas flow.
  • Computer science.
    Department presents the following set of software products:
  • Documented software complexes (OptS, CHELOSS, et Calc, D-Calc, TIDRemigs, TEPLO).
  • Programming complexes being used with the documentation is still in preparation (PNS, NS, L2DFON, Cond, and so on).
  • Separate program modules. Analytical methods (Filter, Analytical Methods, PAT2D, Str, PMX, OZTS, NETS ).
    VII. APPLIED PHYSICS DEPARTMENT
    Head of the department: Academician of RAS, Professor, Dr. Sci. (Math.) R.F. Ganiev. The staff includes 4 Full Professors, 10 Associate Professors.
    The main fields of department scientific research are: Nonlinear wave mechanics and creation of new technologies (medical branch, oil extracting branch, building branches, high quality paints); Modeling wall plasma closed with space vehicles; Plasma gas dynamics; Probe diagnostics of plasma; Investigations on shock waves.
